Your New Y

The Fredericton YMCA has been building strong kids, strong families and strong communities for over 150 years.  Adults, teens and children enjoy programs such as basketball, dance, gymnastics, fitness and childcare in diverse community buildings in twenty-five locations throughout the Fredericton area. Through this hub and spoke model, the Fredericton YMCA serves over 11,000 individuals per year.

OUR VISION is to be a leader in building healthy people and healthy communities through the development of three important pillars:

Promoting health and well-being…We will be a leader and partner in enhancing the health of our citizens so that our community is one of the healthiest populations in the county.

Investing in children and youth…We will create a bright future for our children by investing in programs and services that will engage them to reach their potential in a caring and supportive environment.

Family and community strengthening…We will contribute to the development of strong families and communities, where each individual, regardless of circumstances, is valued and encouraged to succeed.

Our current facility is being used to capacity and cannot accommodate the future growth of Fredericton and the surrounding communities. Our plan is to build a new 60,000 sq. ft. multi-purpose YMCA facility located at the corner of Albert Street and York Street (former Albert St. School property). We encourage you to peruse the Case for Support and Building Concept photos.  We invite your comments and thoughts on our plan for this exciting new facility! Please e-mail your comments to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

The YMCA is a place where the opportunities to participate are endless, and we are looking forward to ensuring that we can meet the growing needs of the Fredericton community!
